Privacy Policy — Clip Stitch
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Overview
Clip Stitch (“the App”) is a video merging and YouTube uploading tool for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Data We Collect
Data stored on your device only
- Merge history (titles, timestamps, video counts) — stored locally in the app
- App settings (preferences, default values) — stored locally
- Merge credits (monthly usage count) — stored in the device Keychain
Data stored on our servers (invite program only)
The App includes an optional invite program: you can share an invite code, and you and your friend each receive extra merges. Supporting this requires a small server, operated by us on Cloudflare. It stores:
- A randomly generated account identifier and access token, created by the App. These are not derived from and not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, phone number, or any device identifier.
- Your invite code, and, if you redeem one, which invite code you redeemed. This is what lets us grant the bonus to both people and prevent the same bonus being claimed twice.
- Your bonus merge total.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit how many invite codes can be redeemed from one network. These records are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
We do not store your video files, your merge history, or any content on our servers — merging happens entirely on your device. The invite data is used only to operate the invite program. It is never used for advertising or tracking, and it is never sold or shared.
The account identifier is stored in your iCloud Keychain, so your invite code and bonus follow you across your own devices and survive a reinstall.
Data shared with third parties
Google / YouTube
When you connect a Google account for YouTube uploads, the App uses Google Sign-In to authenticate you and the YouTube Data API v3 to upload on your behalf. Exactly what is accessed, how it is used, how it is stored, and how to delete it is documented in Google User Data below.
You can disconnect your Google account at any time from the App’s Settings.
Apple
- In-App Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.
- StoreKit 2 is used to verify your subscription status locally on the device.
Tally (contact form)
The contact form on this Privacy Policy page is provided by Tally. When you submit the form, the information you enter (such as your name, email, and message) is transmitted to and stored by Tally so that we can read and reply to it. Tally also collects basic technical information (e.g. browser type, IP address) as part of the submission. See Tally’s Privacy Policy for details.
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage statistics
- We do not track your location
- We do not share, sell, or transmit any personal data to third parties (beyond the YouTube upload functionality you initiate)
- We do not use advertising SDKs
Google User Data
When you connect a Google account to upload to YouTube, Clip Stitch handles Google user data as described below. This section applies only to the Google account you choose to connect — if you never connect one, none of it applies.
Data We Access
Clip Stitch requests these OAuth scopes and no others:
openid,userinfo.email,userinfo.profile— the email address, display name and profile picture of the Google Account you sign in with.youtube.readonly— the list of YouTube channels you own and the playlists on them.youtube.upload— permission to upload a video to your own channel and to set its title, description and privacy status.youtube— permission to add the video Clip Stitch just uploaded to a playlist you selected.
How We Use This Data
Every request is made only in direct response to something you do in the app.
- Your email, name and profile picture are shown in the app so you can see which account is connected and switch between accounts.
- Your channel and playlist lists are shown in a picker so you can choose where a video goes. We do not read the contents of your playlists, or of any video already on your channel.
- The upload permission is used once per upload, on the merged video you just created, with the title, description and privacy status you entered yourself.
- The playlist permission is used for a single request that files that same video into the playlist you picked.
Clip Stitch never reads, modifies or deletes any other video, playlist or channel, and never touches your account in the background.
Data Sharing
We do not share your Google user data with anyone. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train any model, and never sent to our own servers. The only place this data is transmitted is Google’s own APIs, in order to perform the actions you requested.
Data Storage and Protection
Your Google user data stays on your device. OAuth tokens, your account email and display name, and your selected channel information are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by iOS and protected by your device passcode and the Secure Enclave. Clip Stitch never sees or stores your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google Sign-In. All traffic to Google’s APIs uses HTTPS. We run no server that receives, logs or processes Google user data.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your Google user data is kept only while the account is connected.
- Tap Disconnect in the App’s Settings to end the session and erase the stored tokens, account details and channel information from the Keychain immediately. This is the reliable way to remove them.
- Deleting the App removes its local data, but Keychain entries can survive a reinstall on the same device — disconnect first if you want them gone for certain.
- To withdraw Clip Stitch’s access to your Google Account entirely, use Google Account permissions.
- To ask us about deletion, or to request written confirmation, contact us through the form at the bottom of this page.
We keep no copy of this data on any server, so there is no server-side record for us to delete. Videos you have already uploaded remain on YouTube and are managed from YouTube directly — disconnecting your account does not remove them.
Limited Use
Clip Stitch’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Photo Library Access
The App requests access to your photo library to:
- Browse and select videos for merging
- Save merged videos to your Camera Roll
- Delete source videos (only when you explicitly request it)
Video data is processed entirely on your device. Videos are only uploaded to YouTube when you explicitly initiate the upload.
Data Retention
Apart from the invite-program data described above, all data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all data except:
- Keychain data (Google account info, merge credits, invite account identifier) — may persist on the same device after reinstall, and the invite account identifier also persists in your iCloud Keychain
- Invite-program records on our servers — retained while the invite program is in operation, so that bonuses already granted remain valid
- YouTube videos you uploaded — these remain on YouTube and must be managed from YouTube directly
To have your invite-program record deleted, contact us using the form below and include your invite code.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
